Why Support

Joel burst into the national spotlight in 2003 when he led Butler University to a surprise Sweet 16 bid in the NCAA tournament. Joel is remembered for defiantly telling the media “We are Still Here” – a quote that is a large part of his legacy. Tragically, he passed away at the age of 35 from coronary atherosclerosis. Help us continue Joel’s legacy by coming together to support this mission.
